PLYMOUTH WELCOMES ADOPTERS FROM ACROSS DEVON AND CORNWALL
Plymouth City Council is a unitary authority bordered by Devon and Cornwall. It is an Adoption Agency, which is currently placing 30-40 children a year for adoption. Our adopters take placements from Plymouth and other authorities throughout the Country.
We operate an equal opportunities policy in terms of ethnic background, marital status, age and religion. As many of our children cannot be placed in the Plymouth area, we welcome applicants from across Devon and Cornwall. If you live outside the Plymouth boundaries but within an hour's drive of Plymouth then we will welcome your enquiry whatever age of child you wish to adopt. If you live within Devon and Cornwall but more than an hour from Plymouth then we will consider your application if you are interested in one of the following groups of children:
- A school-age child (over age four)
- A child with complex disabilities
- A sibling group of two or more children
We are currently only accepting applications from Plymouth residents if they are interested in adopting a child with complex disabilities.
