There will always be some children who are not able to live with their birth families and for many of them adoption may be the best way of providing a permanent and secure substitute family. Gloucestershire Social Services Department is an Adoption Agency committed to identifying permanent family placements for these children.
The majority of children placed for adoption in Gloucestershire during the last five years were aged between the ages of 12 months – 7 years.
We need adoptive families from a variety of backgrounds. We welcome applicants from all ethnic and religious backgrounds and from those who are single, married, living in a partnership, employed or unemployed. We will always need to prioritise those applicants who can take those children currently waiting for placements.
