Devon County Council is calling on more families across the county to consider whether they could open their hearts and homes to a child in need.
Jonathan Hepworth, Devon’s Adoption Services Manager said: “In Devon at any given time we have between 20 and 25 children waiting for a new family.
Understandably, it is the children older than six or seven, and those with emotional difficulties or uncertain development for whom families are harder to find.
We want to encourage many more people to come forward to consider adoption. We need adopters of all ages and from all backgrounds and ethnicities to meet the needs of a wide range of children and we urge anyone considering adoption to contact us today!”
