Bournemouth Borough Council is looking to recruit adopters for children of all ages, but particularly for families for black and ethnic minority children, disabled children, those with a developmental delay or uncertainty, and children with special needs or ongoing health problems. There is also an ongoing need for adopters who could care for babies, toddlers and siblings groups of two or three who need to stay together.
As long as you are over 21 years of age, there are no restrictions on who can adopt.
As many of our children cannot be placed in the Bournemouth area, we would welcome applications from those living within about an hour’s travelling distance.
A duty worker within our team will happily answer any questions or queries you may have about adoption and send you leaflets. We hold regular information evenings during which the process of adopting is explained by one of our experienced adoption social workers, whilst being realistic as to the challenges and rewards of adopting.
The need to find suitable families for children who are seeking a permanent home is constant. If you are interested in finding out more about adoption, please contact the Adoption Services Team on 01202 456743 or email us at
