Bath & North East Somerset Councilwants to hear from people who are interested in adopting children.
We are particularly interested in talking with people who might feel able to adopt school age children, as these children can wait longer for new families.
We have very experienced Family Placement Team staff who are committed to giving an excellent service to all people affected by adoption.
After your initial enquiry, we offer a visit to you at home to discuss adoption. This is followed by a preparation course where different aspects of adoption are explored in more detail. This course has contributions from adopters as well as other people with valuable knowledge and experience. The course is designed to give you the information you need in a friendly and relaxed setting.
We value being part of the South west Adoption Consortium – as a small authority it gives us flexibility and choice for the children we are placing and also for adopters.
